Call Waiting
Call Waiting alerts you of an incoming call when you are already on the phone. You can answer the second call while putting your first call on hold. The service can be temporarily disabled when you do not want calls interrupted.
To use Call Waiting
When using the phone, an incoming call will be signalled by a beeping tone. To answer the call press the switch hook button. Your first call will be placed on hold while you receive the second call. To switch back between callers, simply press the switch hook button.
You can temporarily disable Call Waiting service to prevent interruptions to a phone converation. To do so:
1) Lift receiver. 2) Dial . 3) Continue with phone call as normal.
When you hang up from phone call, Call Waiting service will be automatically restored.

Caller ID
Caller ID provides you with the name and number (when available) of incoming callers before you answer the phone. This gives you more control over the calls you take and the calls you don't.
- Caller ID units will store the names, numbers, date and time of incoming calls.
- Caller ID also works with Call Waiting, allowing you to see the name and number of an incoming caller, while you are on the phone.
To use Caller ID
The name and number of an incoming caller, when available, will be displayed on your Caller ID box or your Caller ID-ready phone when your phone rings.

Anonymous Call Block
This service blocks calls from incoming parties who have chosen to block their identity. This does not include private, unlisted, or numbers outside of calling area.

Call Forward
This feature allows you to forward all incoming calls to a 3rd party telephone number such as your work number or your mobile phone.
To activate:
1) Dial , wait for 3 short beeps and then a dial tone.
2) Dial the number you would like to forward the calls too.
3) The switch will make an outbound "courtesy" call to the number you are willing to forward calls to.
4) If the call is answered (by a human or an answering device), call forwarding will be activated immediately.
5) If the call is not answered, hang up the phone and repeat the above steps to confirm the number you are willing to forward calls to and call forwarding will be activated.
To deactivate:
1) Dial . This will turn off all Call Forwarding |

Remote Access Call Forward
This feature allows you to activate Call Forwarding on your home or buisness line from a third party telephone number.
To activate:
1) You must access the remote administration call center by calling (571)333-RACE (Remote Access Call Forwarding) or (571)333-7223.
2) You will be prompted to enter your base directory number. (This is the number you would like to activate call forwarding on. e.g. your home number)
3) You will be prompted to enter your security code number. It is 7777 by default and the system will allow you to change this number if required. After entering your security code you will hear 3 short beeps.
4) Dial , you will hear three short beeps.
5) Dial the number you would like to forward the calls too.
6) The switch will make an outbound "courtesy" call to the number you are willing to forward calls to.
7) If the call is answered (by a human or an answering device), call forwarding will be activated immediately.
8) If the call is not answered, hang up the phone and repeat the above steps to confirm the numbers you are willing to forward calls to and call forwarding will be activated.
To deactivate:
1) Repeat steps 1 - 3 above.
2) Dial .
To change your PIN:
1) Dial . 2) Listen for 3 short beeps and enter the new PIN.
3) Listen for 3 short beeps and hang up.
IMPORTANT
- If the forward-to number is long distance, you will be billed for the calls/minutes used.
- If forwarded call is unanswered, calls will not automatically go to your home Voice Mailbox.
- Remember to disable your Call Forward service when you return home by following the Deactivate steps above.

Voice Mailbox
If you are away from the phone or on the other line, you don't have to worry about missing a call with OpenBand's Voice Mailbox service. Callers will hear your personal greeting and will then be prompted to leave a message. Messages are stored in your voice mailbox until you retrieve them from any touch tone phone.
First-Time Users
Dial the Voice Mail access number 571-333-6245. Follow the voicemail instructions to set up the mailbox, including passcode, greeting and name.
Press then - To enter the passcode. Enter 4-10 digit number and sign.

Press then - To record the greeting. Press to end recording. Press to accept.
|
Press then - To record your name. Press to end recording. Press to accept.
|
In User Options
Press - To record your personal greeting.

Press - To record your name announcement.

Press - To change passcode.

Press - To change distribution list.

Press - At any time to return to the previous menu or exit from top menu.

Using Voice Mail to access messages:
From home
Dial your Voice Mail access number 571-333-6245 from the line that has Voice Mail option.
Follow prompts to enter passcode.
Press - To listen to messages.

Press - To make a new message.

Away from home
Dial your home number. When voice mail picks up, press key. Follow prompts to enter passcode and listen to voice mail.
When listening to a Voice Mail message:
Press - To discard the message.

Distinctive Ring
With Distinctive Ring service, you get two phone numbers for the same phone line. Each number is assigned a unique ring. Now, you can know more about your caller before you pick up. Whether you share a phone line with teens or use your home phone for business, you can assign each phone number to a particular use. You will always know how to handle incoming calls.
One number will ring with a single, normal ring.
Second number will ring with two short rings.

3-Way Calling
Conference in two different calls, local or long distance, with 3-Way Calling. You can get friends and family together by simply adding a third person to another call.
To use 3-Way Calling:
1) Call first party as normal. 2) Press flash or switchhook button. 3) Listen for special tones and dial tone. 4) Dial third party.
5) When third party answers, conference in all parties by briefly pressing the flash or switchhook button again.
6) If third party does not answer, return to first party by simply pressing the flash or switchhook button again.
IMPORTANT
- Either party can leave the call at any time by hanging up.
- If you hang up, all callers will be disconnected.
- You can remove the third party at any time by pressing the switchhook button.

Call Intercom Service
When you answer the phone, and the call is for another member of the household, you no longer have to run around the house or shout up the stairs. With Call Intercom Service, transfer the call to another member of the house by using assigned Call Intercom codes. The call will then ring in again, on all line extensions, with a distinctive ring. Each Call Intercom Code (there are two) initiates a distinctive ring. These can be assigned to members of the household, signalling who the incoming call is for. When there is no incoming call, you can use the Call Intercom Service as a in-home intercom. Simply pick up your extension and use the Call Intercom codes to reach a specific member of the household. A single phone line is now an addressable intercom.
To use Call Intercom Service:
1) Lift receiver of home phone and dial ring code or . 2) Listen for confirmation code, followed by dial tone. 3) Hang up. 4) All phones sharing that line will ring with ringing pattern indicated, including the phone from which the Intercom call was initiated.
5) Ringing stops when any phone picks up.
6) Intercom service stops when all phones are hung up.
To transfer incoming calls with Call Intercom Service:
1) Place incoming call on hold by pressing switchhook button. 2) Wait for dial tone. 3) Dial appropriate ring code. 4) Wait for tone and dial tone. 5) Hang up.
6) Call will ring in on all phones sharing that line.

Priority Call
Screen your calls by ear. Priority Call allows you to choose up to six phone numbers to which you assign "priority" status. When these individuals/numbers call, your phone will ring with a unique (short-long-short) ring. This helps you determine if you want to interrupt your current activity to answer the phone.
To activate:
1) Dial .

2) The voice prompt will tell you if your Priority Call feature is ON/OFF. It will give you an option to turn it ON/OFF by pressing .
|
3) Press for instructions and the voice prompt wll guide you through adding/removing numbers from your Priority Call list.
|
4) You can press to delete and to add numbers to the list. |

Repeat Dialing
This feature allows you to use it as redial or if the number you called is busy it will keep trying to reach the number and when it becomes available it will call you back and connect you to that number.
To activate:
1) Dial a telephone number. 2) If the number is busy disconnect the call then pick up the phone again and dial . (The voice prompt will let you know that the number is busy).
To deactivate:
1) Dial .
NOTE: Repeat Dialing may not work with some toll calls.

Call Block
Call Block allows you to choose six phone numbers from your local calling area to block from reaching you. These incoming callers will receive a message that you are not taking calls.
To use Call Block:
1) Lift receiver and dial .
2) Listen for prompts.
3) To repeat instructions, dial .
To deactivate Call Block:
1) Lift receiver and dial .
2) Listen for prompts.

Telemarketing Block
This service helps prevent unwanted calls from interrupting OpenBand customers. This service works with Caller ID. Incoming calls from unknown or private numbers will receive a message stating, "You have called a number which does not accept calls from telemarketers. All other callers may press "1" to complete call." Telemarketers who complete call are in violation of FCC rules and are subject to prosecution. Calls from known and public numbers (i.e. can be displayed on Caller ID) will not be blocked.

Speed Dialing
Everyone has a handful of numbers they dial more often than any others. Now, you can program 8 of these frequently-dialed numbers into your Speed Dialing Service and use a 1-digit code for easy dialing.
To activate:
1) Lift receiver and dial .
2) Wait for 3 short beeps and dial a number between 2 - 9 that you would like to program for speed dial.
3) Dial the telephone number you would like the system to remember (up to 24 digits).
4) Wait for 3 short beeps and hang up the phone.
To use:
1) Pick up the receiver and dial a single digit between 2 - 9 that you programmed previously.

Return Call (*69)
When you can't make it to the phone in time, Return Call service tells you the number of the last incoming caller. Return Call will then dial the number back, if you choose.
To use Return Call:
1) Lift receiver and dial .
